Janael vs. Rômulo: who sold the mirror on the street first?

The challenge

Part 1: make a mirror in 10 minutes, any shape and finish, cut by hand. Part 2: hit the street and sell that mirror within 15 minutes. Selling earns 5 points, plus the judges' score.

Ten minutes to make a mirror is pressure. Janael went with a leather frame over EVA foam; Rômulo chose a flexible frame to skip edging. The judges preferred Janael's mirror. Then came the real challenge: selling it on the street, in a place where nobody knew them. Janael sold in 35 seconds, for R$ 2, asking for help "because I'm on a reality show"; Rômulo closed in 3 minutes 7 seconds, for R$ 20, with "your wife is going to love it". Episode score: Janael 9, Rômulo 7. Running total: Janael 21, Rômulo 19.5.

• The judges debate strategy: "the product is worth 3x, you sell it for 1x and the customer feels they got a deal".

Lessons from the bench

• Don't scare the customer: approach calmly and ask whether they need a mirror somewhere at home before talking price.
• Showing the product in hand sells: leather edge, real mirror, "top grade".
• With 10 minutes, two processes (edging + frame) are a gamble; the one who took the risk and delivered got the score.
